We believe all children are unique, have different strengths and interests, and learn in different ways. This is especially true during early childhood.
That’s why at our preschool the center of each activity is play. We’ve found that younger children learn best when mentally, and physically, stimulated. Our goal is to keep them stimulated and engaged with a variety of activities and exploration.
Our childcare includes 5 beautiful playgrounds for all ages!
With 1.5 acres of playground space, you can guarantee your child will be getting their exercise. Our playgrounds are suited for each child’s age to ensure safe play and interactions.
Experiencing the world through discovery
Our staff-to-child ratio is set to make all field trips safe and fun. Furthermore, parents are invited to join us for the field trips and can meet us at the location.

Events and Participation
We hold several annual events that we look forward to each year! From our highly anticipated pre-k graduation ceremony, to ice cream truck fun, our Fall Festival or Christmas Festival, and everything in between. We adopt families for Christmas, hold fundraisers for our furry friends at the humane society. We invite any qualified team to come spend time with our kids, such as Soccer Shots and the new PBS! The more we have happening, the better!

We'll take care of the transportation
To and from transportation is provided by Discoveries Preschool and Childcare for your child to local Sparks schools as well as adventurous field trips.
The school owns three 15 passenger vans ready for the field trips and transporting students to and from the elementary schools as needed. All vans are equipped with first aid kits and fire extinguishers.
Meet the owner
My name is Gina Lamarca and I am the owner of Discoveries Preschool and Childcare. My background has always been in childcare and education. I attended Fresno State University and Fresno City College with a minor in child development. Children are my passion and I believe they should enjoy their preschool years in a loving and safe environment. Are your teachers certified?
Our teachers’ and staff’s educations range from CDA credentials to more than a decade of hands-on learning. Some have taught in large corporate facilities while others have been teachers on Native American Reservations as well as Head Start Programs.
What security measures do you take for your facility?
Discoveries Preschool has a state-of-the-art security system. The front door to the preschool is always locked, and cannot be accessed without a designated four-digit passcode given to you by the office. Alongside always having 1-2 people in the front room to keep track of who is coming and going, we couple these security measures with ID’ing any unfamiliar face that enters the preschool. We err on the side of caution when it comes to this topic, as safety is our number one priority.
What’s your sick-child policy?
We follow the strict, yet reasonable, Communicable Disease Recommendations for schools and childcare centers. This can range from a simple 24 hour exclusion, or more, depending on the severity or lack of. This is handled on case by case basis but rest assured, we go above and beyond cleaning standards to ensure the health of all students and teachers alike.
Are meals and snacks provided?
We ask that parents bring a morning snack and afternoon lunch. Don’t worry, we’ve got the afternoon snack and milk covered! We freshen up our snack calendar the 1st of every month. Snacks can range from healthy cereals and crackers, fresh fruits, and the occasional ice cream to keep things festive. We also allow students to bring store bought goodies to share with the entire class in the event of a birthday or special event.
