Discoveries Preschool and Childcare

Your child’s mental and physical development are your most important concerns. That’s why, when they are not at home, you want them to be in a warm, comforting, mentally stimulating, and safe environment.

That is why our mission at Discoveries Preschool and Daycare is to provide children with a safe and enriched learning environment where each child can grow physically, socially, intellectually, and emotionally.

Each child is cared, and nurtured, by professional, highly experienced staff, many of whom are parents themselves.

We go above and beyond the Washoe County School Districts guidelines to best prepare your child for their educational future, and help them enjoy a lifetime of exploring and learning!

Our fun, engaging and age appropriate rooms follow a curriculum which focuses on the individual needs of each age group.

At the center of each activity is play. We’ve found that younger children learn best when mentally, and physically, stimulated. (You won’t find endless piles of coloring books and crayons.)

Discoveries Preschool and Child care is nestled in a welcoming neighborhood just down the road from Alyce Taylor Elementary School and across the street from Gator Swamp Park. We bring your child outdoors and let them interact with the world around them. We schedule several field trips with input from the children.

We’ve found that important learning skills can be gained with action as simple as creating food recipes (such as sidewalk chalk) in our fun kitchen experiments. Our experienced and highly trained teachers encourage children to learn new things and reinforce their strengths every day while in day care.

We have 4 beautiful playgrounds for all ages!

Parental involvement is encouraged and appreciated. We host several on site events like “Tea for Moms” and “BBQs for Dads.” We also encourage you to share your cultural heritage with your child’s class.

When children are cared for at Discoveries Preschool and Child Care they realize that our world and life is a better place with them in it.

To and from transportation is provided by Discoveries Preschool and Childcare for your child to local schools and for adventurous field trips.
